Greetings rod,
Arghhh. What a Super Bowl that was. They'll be plenty of second guessing and Monday morning quarterbacking to go around here in the Pacific Northwest. I won't jump on that bandwagon though. (At least after I got that out of my system last night).
The Seahawks gave us a great ride this season and managed to make it into the Super Bowl for two years in a row. It wouldn't surprise me if they make it again next year.
But there is an emptiness inside. An emptiness not to be filled soon. An emptiness that weakens the body and mind.
Oh, wait. That's my stomach growling. Maybe I should eat breakfast.
Anyway, on with this month's newsletter. It's a good thing I wrote most of it last week as the emptiness inside threatens to devour my...I really should go eat breakfast.

Oregon Coast workshop now open for sign up

Last month I asked if there was any interest in an Oregon Coast Lightroom-centric workshop. And since there was, Victoria Dye and I have gone ahead and scheduled it. The dates are July 22-26.
Not only will we be photographing one of the most picturesque parts of the country, we'll be spending a good deal of time in the classroom on Lightroom. This won't be quite as intense as our dedicated Lightroom workshops (see Palouse and Olympic) but you will be learning the fundamentals of the most useful and important modules in Lightroom.
And if you're just not that into Lightroom, we'll still be out photographing as much as we'd normally do on a workshop.
And you get all this with invigorating ocean air and fresh seafood!
Go to the Oregon Coast workshop page.

TTG CE4 Client Response Gallery
The Turning Gate has released the final puzzle piece of their CE4 suite of Lightroom Web Module plug-ins. And it's a doozy. (not sure if that's how you spell doozy. Doozie?)
Anyway, it's here! CE4 Client Response Gallery!
If you're a photographer working with clients who need to make selections and give you feedback, this gallery facilitates that. No longer will your clients need to write down file names or send you an email saying they want to use that image with the thing in the foreground and the whats-it on the side. They can actually place a check mark on the image and even open a response pane for each image where they can choose any options you've configured and add comments.
And, when combining the new the CE4 version with TTG Publisher, client feedback is now saved and clients can come back, log in, and continue making choices, no more needing to complete selections in one setting.
Read more about the new TTG Client Response Gallery on my blog…

Columbia River Gorge in the spring
May is wonderful time to photograph the numerous waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge. It's also a great time to find fields of wildflowers in nearby preserves. There are only three spaces remaining in my May 6-10 workshop based out of Cascade Locks. This workshop is limited to only seven people. This way we won't get in each others' way and you'll get all the help you need.
For more information, and to see some more pictures of the area, visit my Waterfalls Workshop page.

Still time to sign up for amazement!

And by amazement I mean The Northern Lights. There are still spaces remaining in the Aurora tour I'm co-leading with Victoria Dye.
Seeing and photographing this spectacle is something you'll never forget. And the images you'll come away with will make you go "Wow!" every time you look at them.
But it's more than that. There's just something about being out so late, when it's quiet and cool, next to still water, and gazing up at all those stars, the Milky Way, and those amazing auroras.
Don't miss out.
Visit our Aurora Tour page.

I guess that's it for this month. I'm not sure what I'll do with myself now. The darkness in enveloping me. The will to ....
Oh, right. Breakfast.
Plus, spring training starts soon and the Mariners have made some major improvements in their roster. So....World Series?? Maybe???
