Greetings
I'm just back from a workshop to the Oregon Coast and am hip deep in planning for next year. I'm also middle-of-my-shoe deep in a muddy area in our yard but that's another issue.
Oregon Coast-Newport

I just returned from my very first workshop for Photographers Alliance Workshops. David Middleton and I had a great trip to Newport on the Oregon Coast. We had a fantastic group and some wonderful photo opportunities, including some great foggy scenes at Heceta Head lighthouse and more fun than should be legal at the net piles. Be sure to check out PAW's 2010 schedule, most of which is now posted to the website. Most of the leaders are working on finalizing their trips and I know I have one or two I still need to write up, but you can still check out some of the great offerings for next year, including trips to some exotic places like Pacific Rim National Park on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, The Dalmatian Coast, Bhutan, Patagonia, and Germany.
My 2010 workshop schedule

I've posted my 2010 workshop schedule on my website. I'll be doing three workshops with my friend Don Mammoser. We'll be going the Slot Canyons and Monument Valley in April, followed by Arches National Park. In the fall we'll be in Colorado's San Juan Mountains for their spectacular color.

I also am leading several workshops for Photographers Alliance Workshops, including Palouse, Mt. Rainier, Olympic, and (tentatively) Yosemite. Plus I'll be traveling to the Oregon Coast again, this time to Bandon with Great American Photography Workshops. And who knows, a few more workshops, tours, or seminars may be added.

Eco-Font

Thought I'd pass along something that was passed on to me. EcoFont is a free downloadable font that will save you ink and money. The font is designed with teeny, tiny holes, which ends up using about 20% less ink.
Happy Birthday Bailey

Yep, Bailey the labradoodle turned four years old on the 15th.
Actually, her mom was a labradoodle and we're unsure of the lineage of her father. Bailey looks like she might have some cocker spaniel or cockadoo in her, which could make her something like a labracockadoodledoo. But I digress.
And even though she's four years old, and I can't really imagine a time without her, she's still my little girl; she'll always be my little girl.
Again, I digress.
Bailey's still cute and adorable, but she was super extra cute when we first got her so I thought I'd recycle an old picture of her. This was taken right after we got her. Isn't she cute!!
A steal on compact flash memory

This looks like a pretty good deal. Buy.com has a Kingston 8 GByte Compact Flash card for $21. I may have to get one or two myself. I have no idea how long this may last so, as they say....hmm, I don't know what they say but I'm guessing these might not last long.
Finally

Well, that's about all I have for now. I may be adding more workshop soon so keep an eye on my workshops page. I'll also note any additions in the next newsletter. Until then, enjoy the end of summer and the coming autumn.
