Greetings
Once again I'm heading off for workshops so once
again this will be short.

The Photographer's Ephemeris |
|
|
|
|
Now this looks cool: Stephen Trainor's The
Photographer's Ephemeris. This free application can
show sun and moon rise and set times as well as
azimuth. But it does more that this. It can also overlay
that information with a topographic map. According
to the developer, "A typical use might be to determine
when the sun will set along the axis of a mountain
valley, or when a full moon rise will rise across a
lake." This utility requires the use of Adobe Air,
available as a free download. All the links are here.
I haven't had the time to much more than play with this
yet but it looks like something with which I could kill
hours and hours.

Colorado Mountains and Wildflowers workshop |
|
|
|
|
A reminder that Don Mammoser and I have reduced
the price on our Colorado Mountains and
Wildflowers workshop (July 7-11) to $800. This
workshop includes two jeep trips into the mountains.
This was one of our more popular workshops last
year and everybody raved about the jeep
excursions. There are still a few spaces left.

Olympic National Park-Special Price |
|
|
|
|
In case you missed the email I sent out a few days
ago, I'm offering a limited space workshop to Olympic National Park, July 19-24.
The workshop cost is $500 and is limited to six
people.
I anticipate that this workshop, like the Palouse
workshops I offered, will fill fast

Another tutorial from Tony Kuyper |
|
|
|
|
Check out the new tutorial from Tony Kuyper.
This one is on using a web browser to help proof your
images. The theory is that it's more effective to proof
the work you're doing in Photoshop if you can see a
more finished product. That is, a matted and framed
print. Now we all know it's impractical to mat and
frame a print just for the purpose of proofing
adjustments in Photoshop so this tutorial and the
included actions and files shows you how to do that in
a web browser. Tony's also updated a couple of
his previous actions including his "Make it Glow" and
his "Saturation Masks" actions.

Off Again |
|
|
|
|
That's it for now. I'm heading off for back to back to
back workshops, my longest trip of the year. Poor
Bailey the labradoodle, I guess she gets pretty mopy
when I'm gone on these long trips.
