Greetings
Happy New Year everybody. As the winds of this atypical northwest winter continue (I'm starting to get a little shell shocked with all the branches hitting the house and the power going out seemingly once a week), I'm spending most of my time remodeling a bathroom and attempting to get my digital images cataloged once and for all, both of which seem to be never ending projects.

One good thing about doing my own remodeling is that I get to buy new tools. That's nearly as fun as buying new photo gear!

Change to Oregon Waterfalls workshop

Don Mammoser and I have made a change to the planned Oregon Waterfalls workshop. Instead of making it all waterfalls all the time, we’ve decided to spend a couple of days in the Columbia Gorge photographing waterfalls, and a couple of days in Seaside, Oregon photographing the northern Oregon Coast. This will include the Cannon Beach area, Ecola State Park, and more.

Slot Canyons/Monument Valley

Our Slot Canyons/Monument Valley field workshop this April is nearly sold out. In fact, there is only one spot remaining. If you’ve been on the fence, it’s time to jump down.
iView Media Pro

I've just started using iView Media Pro to catalog my digital images. So far I really like it. It's got some great capabilities and it plays well with Photoshop and Bridge. It's one of the few DAM (Digital Asset Management) applications that can write metadata back into to RAW files as well.

You may have heard the iView was acquired by Microsoft. This spring, the next incarnation of iView Media Pro, Expression Media, will be released. Those purchasing iView Multimedia 3 will get an upgrade to Expression for free. So if you've been thinking of getting a DAM application and have been leaning toward iView, now would be a good time. You can buy it directly from iView (iview- mutimedia)or get it at a discount from Peter Krogh's (author of The DAM Book) website by clicking here.

Book headed to printer

After a couple of rounds of editing and some cutting of length (and we all know how painful that can be), my book will be heading to the printer in early February.
I'm not sure exactly when it will be released but rest assured that I'll let you all know.
Until next time

I guess that's it for now. Bailey is bugging me to go play with her so I better bow to my higher calling and go toss a ball.
I should probably get back to that remodeling project as well.

Hope that where ever you are, it's warmer than it is here!
Oh, and before I forget: Go Seahawks!
