Greetings
For those of you keeping vigil, I still don’t have my
D200. I did get a new car though so at least part of
my toy lust was satisfied. The ol’ Subaru had over
205,000 miles on it so my wife “made me” get a new
car. I tell you, she’s tough to live with.
She also tries to tell me that I really do need that
new lens I’ve been thinking about. Darned controlling,
bossy women :-)
Anyway, I hope your spring is springing right along.

Lexjet Inkjet products |
|
|
|
|
I just tried a new paper from Lexjet. It’s their 10 mil
Professional Semi-Matte. It looks like the Epson
Premium Luster only a bit smoother. What I like about
it is that it doesn’t exhibit the “bronzing” effect that
some coated papers do with the Epson Ultrachrome
inks. I’m still using the Epson 2200 printer so I do run
into this problem.
If you like printing to a luster or semi-matte surface,
you might want to give this paper a try.
I've always had good, quick service from Lexjet. I
usually buy my inks through them because they have
some of the best ink prices. This is the first time I've
bought paper from them as I've been able to find the
Epson papers for less elsewhere. If I continue to like
this new paper, that will change.

Slots/Monument Valley |
|
|
|
|
Don Mammoser and I had a great time last month
with our Slot Canyons/Monument Valley workshop.
Don and I
are already talking about doing it again next year
with a few changes and additions (now that we know
a few more things than we did before). This would be
another field workshop running 5 or 6 days. Last
month we spent one spectacular sunrise in
Monument Valley with a guide. It turned out to be
the best sunrise of the three we had there. Next
year
we’re talking about adding a guided sunset shoot as
well. The guided tours let you get into parts of
Monument Valley that you otherwise are not allowed
in to.
Next year’s workshop will also be in early April. We’ll
be setting exact dates and prices soon and I’ll
announce it here in the newsletter.

My Bookshelf |

For lack of anything better to write about, I thought
I would list some of my favorite
photography/creativity/writing related books.

Until next time |

That's all I have for now. It's too nice outside to sit
in front of this infernal contraption! I think I'll go sand
the deck. Fun, huh?
