Rod Barbee Photography Newsletter
Volume 15

Greetings
Spring is nearly here, once again. Some of the bulbs
in our garden are already beginning to show their
leaves and many of the trees are starting to bud.
Our pup, Bailey the labradoodle, is already showing
interest in all the new things popping up in the yard.
I don't think our garden will be too safe this year.
She's already discovered squirrels and I can't wait for
her to meet the frogs.

Photoshop resources on the web |
|
|
|
|
There are just so many great Photoshop resources
on the web, places where you can view tutorials, ask
questions or download actions and scripts. For
instance, did you know that you can create multi
layer document of RAW image files in Photoshop? I
didn’t know that until I viewed one of Russell Brown’s
tutorials. This means you can pick a raw image,
process it twice (or more) for different exposures,
and have each “version” on a layer by itself. All this
by using Photoshop CS2’s new Smart Objects.
There’s even a script available from Dr. Brown that
will automate all of this for you.
There’s just too much good stuff to list hear, but
click the link below and it’ll take you to a page I’ve
created

Triple “D” California 2006 Special |
|
|
|
|
Jay at Triple “D” tells me that he still has space
available in his California 2006 sessions this year.
Among
the animals he’ll have is a brand new tiger cub. Talk
about cute. He’s also hoping for baby cougar cubs
as well.
Jay is offering a special price of $1150 on session #3
(April 13-15) to all former OMSP clients as well as
readers of my newsletter. The normal price for this is
$1450 If you’re interested, give Jay a call at 406-
755-9653 and be sure to mention my name.
He is also offering the April 16th “Day at the Ranch”
session for only $350
The California Special along with the “Day at the
Ranch” have traditionally been one of the most
popular and productive of Jay’s offerings.

Canadian Rockies Field Workshop nearly sold out! |
|
|
|
|
Right now it looks there are only 2 spaces left for the
Canadian Rockies Field Workshop with Don Mammoser
and me. With nearly 7 months to go, this is sure to
sell out. Sooooo----if you’re still thinking about this
workshop, better think fast.
And, if you want to get some great wildlife
photography in, I’ll be leading a wildlife model shoot
at the Triple “D” Game Farm September 13-16, right
before the Canadian Rockies workshop. Spectacular
wildlife and spectacular landscapes, now that’s hard
to beat. Jay has a special price on this as well:
$1050 for former OMSP clients and readers of my
newsletter. If you want to join me, call Jay at 406-
755-9653 and be sure to mention my name.

Nikon F100 for sale |
|
|
|
|
I'm selling my trusty Nikon F100 camera body as well
as the MB-15 vertical grip for the F100. Before I put
this stuff on Ebay, I thought I'd see if there is
anybody out there in need of one of the finest film
cameras ever made. It doesn't have a lot of wear as
I was using it mainly for wildlife and as a backup to
the F5. It's in excellent condition and comes with the
architectural grid focusing screen (type E)
If you're interested, or know somebody who might
be, send me an email at: rod@barbeephoto.com and
we can discuss price.

It's nearly baseball season again |
|
|
|
|
Some of you may not care about that. But it makes
spring time my favorite time of year, full of possibility
and promise.
Of course, over the last couple of years, those
promises have been broken by the All-Star break. But
I'm ever the optimist and ever a loyal Mariners fan.
That's it for now. Opening Day is a month away and
that's when you'll be hearing from me next.
